Creative Paint Fight Photos
If you're looking to capture your family's playful side, I highly recommend considering a paint fight photo session. It's an experience you'll treasure forever, with beautiful memories that will bring smiles to your faces every time you look at the photos.
This paint-fight photo session with Grammy Sue and her Grandkiddo Cameron, was an absolute blast! It was such a fantastic and fun idea for family photos. Grammy Sue even saved her outfit and the painted canvas, to preserve the memories on the fabric along with the gorgeous photos we captured.
As a professional family photographer, I love having opportunities to be creative and playful. But it's not every day that a client comes to me with such a colorful idea for their pictures. The best part was that we had a few months to prepare and make this idea come to life.
Grammy Sue set up for pictures in the yard of her spacious property in Maple Valley, WA. She put out a canvas on an easel, cups filled with brushes, and giant “paint brushes” she had made using pool noodles and rag mops. - So fun!!
The photo session began with some simple family photos with parents and grandparents. Then Grammy Sue and Cameron started painting the canvas together. That’s when Grammy surprised Cameron with a swipe from her paint brush.
To our surprise, the paint fight didn't immediately escalate like a scene from a teenage food fight in a movie. But, after a few more playful paint attacks, Cameron reached for one of the condiment bottles and fired back.
That's when the real fun began!
They squirted, swiped, splashed, and brushed paint all over each other. After 20 minutes of joyful play, they transformed into walking rainbows. It was absolutely glorious!
When all was said and done they were covered head to toe in paint. We paused for a few more pictures before turning on the sprinkler to cool off.
If you’re looking for a creative way to showoff your family’s fun side I highly recommend asking about a paint fight photo session. You can also ask your photographer to share some of the creative ideas on their bucket list. I’ve always got a few ideas just waiting for the right family to take the idea and run with it.
